June 22, 2020Welcome! I’m Carole Lynn, and live with my husband outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. I believe a garden is a special place – it’s my favorite place to go for quiet meditation. It’s there I can experience the Lord’s creativity with all five senses – He has put Himself, His very nature on display! It’s there, removed from the distractions of the world that I have my best opportunity to be quiet and listen, to find His peace and rest, and wait for His assurance and blessing.
And sometimes – I actually garden while I’m in the garden. Using all the elements He supplies and the assistance (translation – hard work) of my husband, I cultivate in hopes of growing our favorite vegetables or making our space more beautiful. There are often redo’s and messes involved – along with humor in the trying, but our effort is another way of mimicking and making much of our Creator. I long to share my adventures in this so that you might be a part of my adventure and be encouraged.
My primary motivation to blog came from my desire to glorify the Lord – to make much of Him as I’ve experienced Him in garden. As I mulled it over, I realized there would be all kinds of benefits. It could be an outlet for my love of nature, love of learning, and fascination with visual expression.
I would have more time sharing a common hobby of photography with my husband. It would be a means of meeting other people with similar interests. And it might increase my time exploring outdoors and give me an excuse to visit gardens and parks more often. This all sounded like an exciting adventure, so here I go!
